Accessible travel with the metronom
All metronom trains are equipped with boarding ramps in the driving carriage, which make boarding in a wheelchair more convenient.
You can rely on the fact that all metronom trains always travel with the same carriage order.
Travelling in a southerly direction: locomotive at the front
Travelling in a northerly direction: driving carriage at the front (incl. wheelchair ramp)
little tip: get in touch with us before
you travel. Then the passenger attendant will be ready and waiting
for you at the door of your metronom.
In this way we can guarantee you a safe and comfortable boarding
experience. We would be very happy to hear from you. It’s very
simple to register your journey and you can do so online at any time
or by telephone from Monday to Friday on +49 (0)581 97 164-165. Would
you like to travel with us over the weekend? If possible, please let
us know about any journeys planned for Saturdays, Sundays or bank
holidays before 5pm on Friday.
It goes without saying that this service is free of charge. And of course, we will always be happy to help you even if you haven’t contacted us in advance. So nothing is standing between you and a spontaneous journey. However, a passenger attendant must be available to operate the boarding ramp. If they cannot be found in the driving carriage, you can call them by pressing the wheelchair button next to the door.
